Rotaviruses are the single most important cause of severe diarrhoeal illness in infants and young children worldwide (Peak infection period: 6 -24 months) . Infection with rotavirus can cause severe gastroenteritis, vomiting, diarrhea and fever.
A total of 2 injections are required, administered when the infant is 2 months old (must be completed no later than 20 weeks after birth) and 4 months old (must be completed no later than 24 weeks after birth).
The two shots must be separated by at least one month.
