Preparation before the inspection
Avoid eating red meats, blood products, citrus fruits and juices 3 days prior to examination.
Avoid excessive amounts of vitamin C consumption from supplement or iron supplements 3 days prior to examination.
No non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs taken 7 days prior to examination. Avoid sample collection during active hemorrhoids or menstrual period.
